Thoughts on Angel
I've been working waaay too much recently, I don't get another day off until Friday, that's eight days in a row! I need to find more time to post, though I'm dead tired when I get out of work, and I just want to sit here and play games for the rest of the night. I just thought that I would drop by and post my thoughts on the last episode of Angel. This is what I posted in the Coa forum:
"I'll start with the end. Dear god, I can't believe that they ended it like that. I can't believe that they didn't give us some closure. It's possible that Angel and the gang beat all of those creatures, as long as it wasn't an endless stream of them, we've seen them make it through some rough crap before.
I agree, I think that Gunn really was going to die, there wasn't anything to save him. I thought that Linds would be the only one to die, since they just said that one of "them" wouldn't make it. I couldn't f'ing believe that they killed Wes. That just boggled my mind, they killed... geeze, I don't even know what else to say about that.
Fredlyria was amazing, I was so happy that she pretended to be Fred for him, and that he was very happy with it. It was very sad in the alley when she was crying for him, I wish that we could have heard her direct thoughts in more detail. The scene with Wes/Fredlyria was one of the best things that I've ever seen. I was just sitting there like "Fix him! Fix him! Do something!", but I knew that she didn't have the power to help him.
Very dissapointed that Lorne left the group. After all that they've been though, you'd think that he'd stick around for support afterwards, since he didn't know who was going to live and who was going to die. I just can't believe Lorne would go out like that. Must ask Andy Hallett what he thought of that character choice if he comes to the MidOhioCon this year!
Very happy about the Conner/Angel thing, though I wish that Conner would have stuck around for the "final fight". I can see why he didn't though, since that was the thing that would most make Angel happy, that his son is safe and has a great life.
Lorne killing Linds, that was really crappy of Angel. I think that maaaybe he really was a changed man. I know that you can't reeeally trust him and everything, but something just told me that he might really have wanted to be a better person... but he didn't ever get the chance. He was killed in a crappy fashion by a freakin gun, that's horrible.
Let's go back to the end- it makes me soooo mad! If there isn't some kind of movie, and this is how they left it, I'm going to be forever furious at JW. There isn't any way that you can just leave it like that, without seeing what reward (or death) that Spike and Angel get! I have to know what happens, it just isn't right for a true fan (like all of us) to be left hanging like that.
I assume that Angel was the one that was supposed to get the Shanshu, but all of that paper signing stuff could have just been a front to see if Angel was loyal or not, and maybe it was Spike's to begin with. I'm thinking that Angel wouldn't want to be human anyway, since he wouldn't be a very good fighter if he was human, a little look back to IWRY proves that.
Ugh.... Wes..."
